My Favorite Norwex Products

Have you heard of Norwex? If you have, there’s a good chance you have become a Norwex addict over time, much like I have. If you haven’t, then you are missing out on one of the greatest product lines for your home!

Norwex is a company specializing in eco-friendly, sustainable home and body products. They don’t use dangerous or harmful chemicals and their products are some of the best quality I’ve found. I was introduced to the brand years ago and since then I have compiled quite the collection of products in my home. They are truly a saving grace to my sanity. Why you ask?

Here are just a few reasons:

  • The BacLock technology keeps the cloths smelling fresh longer, meaning I do less laundry than if I used standard towels and cloths
  • All of the products make cleaning much easier, so I spend less time scrubbing and always have the right tool for the job
  • I feel comfortable knowing my family is not getting exposed to dangerous chemicals
  • Because of the quality of the products, I spend way less money on cleaning supplies than I did in the past
  • I get peace of mind knowing that I am being environmentally conscious with the use of these products

The Skeptic in Me

When I attended my first Norwex party, I was a skeptic. I couldn’t believe that a simple cloth could remove harmful germs and bacteria with just water – no cleaning spray! Boy was I wrong. After the consultant did a bacteria test using raw chicken, the results amazingly showed that the Norwex cloth removed MORE bacteria than the chemical-laden spray. Tentatively, I dipped my toes into the Norwex product line by purchasing my first EnviroCloth. That was my gateway drug. It held up to its promise and now the only cleaning products I use on a daily basis are my Norwex and a brand called Better Life. It sounds dramatic to say that this brand has been life-changing, but any product that gives me back time and peace of mind is a total win in my book. Below are my favorite Norwex products, in no particular order!

The EnviroCloth is my all-time favorite Norwex product. I use it constantly throughout the day – to clean EVERYTHING. Norwex microfiber is able to remove up to 99% of bacteria from any surface. This cloth has been tested against some of the strongest cleaning sprays and it removes more bacteria and germs than those chemical-laden cleansers!

In addition to removing bacteria, the micro silver antibacterial agent that Norwex refers to as BacLock goes to work self-purifying the cloth. This makes the cloth completely safe to reuse multiple times, even when it has been used to clean up the nastiest of germs (think raw chicken)! The BacLock also helps prevent the build up of odors as long as it is dried properly between multiple uses.

I use these cloths in every room of our house on almost every surface – I’ve even used them to remove stains from spills on our couches (no other cleansers needed)! Use them to wipe down counters, dry messes off the floor, dust, clean your entire bathroom – the EnviroCloth does it all. This cloth has replaced so many dangerous products in my home. I leave one hanging in my kitchen and each bathroom to make clean up a breeze. This is not a product you will ever regret buying!

Fun Facts about Norwex microfiber (from the Norwex site):

  • The BacLock in the cloths—Norwex’s exclusive micro silver antibacterial agent—goes to work to self-purify and inhibit odors from bacteria, mold and mildew growth within the cloth within 24 hours so that it is ready to use again.
  • Cleans any surface including bathrooms (taps, sinks, tubs, counters, toilets and more), walls, windows, floors, vehicles, toys, tools, kitchen appliances and surfaces, outdoor furniture and much more.
  • Made with fiber that has a maximum length of more than 10 million feet (3 million meters) for more effective cleaning power.
  • Extra-absorbent and ultra-durable. At just 1/200th the thickness of a human hair, Norwex microfiber has much more surface area per square inch – it literally picks up everything with water only!
  • Can be folded and refolded to create multiple surfaces for nonstop cleaning.
  • No need for harmful chemicals.
  • Saves time and money by using only water.
  • Eliminates the need for paper towels, creating less waste and less paper dust in the home.
  • Eliminates residual “chemical muck” left behind by typical cotton cloths and harsh cleaning products.
  • Traps dust and grime in the cloth and leaves surfaces cleaner, so you won’t have to clean as often.

Window Cloth

This bad boy, paired with the EnviroCloth, can do about 90% of the cleaning in your home. It works wonders at cleaning windows and mirrors with a streak-free shine. I have always hated cleaning mirrors because both paper towels and normal cloths tend to leave behind bits of residue. Plus, it takes an insane amount of scrubbing to remove the streaks. Now I can clean our mirrors in just a few seconds by wetting one half of the window cloth to scrub away stuck on residue, then drying and polishing the mirror with the other half. A few wipes and we have shiny, clean mirrors. Game changer.

Counter Cloths (3 Pack or Box Set)

We used to go through a lot of paper towels in our house. Hubby used them for everything – to wipe down the counters, clean spills on the floor, and even dry our dishes. Then, he would throw them away even if all they had on them was water (and clean water at that!). Not only was it environmentally wasteful, but it was expensive. Between these and our EnviroCloth, Hubby rarely reaches for a paper towel anymore. He uses these ultra-absorbent counter cloths for spills, drying dishes, and even cleaning our chicken eggs! We purchased the extra storage rack (pictured below) so that they are visible and thus a reminder to use them. Not only have they replaced 80% of our paper towel use, but because they contain BacLock, our set of 9 easily lasts us a few weeks before needing a wash.

Body Cloths (3 Pack)

These super soft cloths are amazing – they gently exfoliate and clean your skin from dirt, excess oil, makeup, and other impurities that cling to your skin throughout the day. They are ultra-gentle and can be used on all skin types, including delicate or sensitive skin (like mine). In fact, they are so gentle that they can be used on your face, and even under your eyes to remove makeup. Because of the BacLock, I am able to use one of these cloths for an entire week before throwing it in the laundry.

Did you know? Harsh soaps and cleansers can be drying to skin. They’re especially problematic to those with sensitive skin. Using a soft microfiber cloth with just water can help maintain the balance of delicate skin.

Make-Up Removal Cloths (3 Pack)

Like the body cloths, the makeup removal cloths do an impressive job removing makeup. You can literally see all the grime that comes off your face at the end of the day when you use these cloths. They can even be used to remove eyeliner and mascara without soap or cleansers. The soft, suede fabric makes them excellent for delicate or sensitive skin (I seriously love the feel of these cloths). When Hubby and I went to Europe years ago, I took these cloths along and they saved so much space in my bag. Because I had them, I didn’t need my facial cleansers or eye makeup remover. Plus, I didn’t have to worry about them exploding in my bag while on the plane (and you can get them through airport security)! They are small, lightweight, and dry quickly, making them perfect for travel.

Powder Laundry Detergent

If you have any Norwex cloths or towels, then you also want this laundry detergent. Because so many laundry detergents contain harsh chemicals and fillers, they can break down and interfere with the microfiber’s ability to do its job. AND, if those chemicals and fillers are doing that to microfiber, imagine what they are also doing to your clothes – and you!

The Norwex laundry detergent is free from many of the harmful chemicals found in top brand detergents. In fact, it is free from phosphates, sulfates, chlorine, dyes, fragrances, fillers, phthalates, bleach, ammonia, and optical brighteners. It is safe in both high-efficiency (HE) and conventional washing machines and is safe on all fabrics, including hand-washables and of course, Norwex microfiber. I feel safer using this detergent on my children’s clothing, knowing that any residue left behind will not harm them or irritate their skin.

A few more facts about the powder laundry detergent:

  • It’s color safe
  • Removes even the most stubborn stains
  • Requires a smaller amount than most typical store brands
  • One bag will wash between 66 (conventional) and 100 (HE) loads of laundry
  • Works well in all water temperatures
  • Effective even in hard water
  • Contains environmentally-friendly water softeners
  • Contains biodegradable ingredients
  • Suitable for septic tanks (a must for us!)

Did you know? The major fillers used in powder detergents are insoluble materials that cause accumulation and buildup in washers, pumps, pipes, drain lines and septic tanks—and they can also end up in our waterways. Norwex Laundry Detergent dissolves completely and does not accumulate or build up.

Kitchen Cloth & Towel Set

The minute I got my first kitchen cloth and towel set, I threw out donated all my other kitchen towels. Like so many other Norwex products, these towels have the BacLock technology, meaning I get to use them longer before having to swap them out and launder them. Because of this same technology, and the basic properties of microfiber, I don’t have to worry about cross-contamination or the spreading of germs around my kitchen. If you used a regular towel to wipe up egg whites from your counter, you would immediately throw it in the laundry. With these towels you don’t have to, which makes them worth their weight in gold.

Veggie & Fruit Scrub Cloth

This two-sided cloth has a smooth side for polishing fruit and vegetables, and a rough side for scrubbing them. In fact, the rough side can even be used to peel vegetables like carrots and potatoes! It removes dirt, wax, pesticide residue, and other debris from your produce. I have this cloth hanging in my kitchen and I use it frequently for scrubbing skins off carrots, wiping the wax off apples, and even cleaning the rinds of cantaloupe and watermelon. It is such an easy way to clean larger produce!

EnviroSponges (2 Pack)

I have a love/hate relationship with sponges. They make cleaning dishes and my sink so much easier, but oh my goodness do they get stinky fast! Although they are inexpensive, I get tired of buying them and constantly throwing them away after minimal use. When Norwex introduced the EnviroSponges, I immediately bought a set. Since then, I have purchased two more sets to keep in my rotation.

These are not one-and-done sponges. They are machine washable (and dishwasher safe!) and 100% reusable. One side is textured for scrubbing and the other is soft microfiber. Use them wet to clean (no other soap cleaners needed) or dry to quickly wipe up spills. I use these multiple times throughout the day and I love that they can sit out without getting smelly. Because they contain BacLock, they self-purify within 24 hours, leaving them smelling good as new! Plus, they come with a 1-year warranty – I bet your store-bought sponge doesn’t have that kind of guarantee!

Dusting Mitt

Dusting is my least favorite chore. Sprays tend to give me a headache, and I hate the residue that gets left behind. Other cloths just move the dust around, moving it into the air so it settles right back where it came from. It is so frustrating! Nothing bugs me more than spending time cleaning and having the end result not look clean! Enter the dusting mitt. This mitt makes dusting a breeze and dare I say, even a little fun? Because it fits on your hand, just run your hand over any surface needing dusting and the microfiber picks it right up. Easy peasy! Even Baby Girl loves helping me clean when she gets to wear the dusting mitt!

“It (the mitt) creates static electricity that lifts the smallest particles of dust and dirt up into the cloth and prevents them from resettling back onto surfaces.”

Mop System

A week after purchasing the Norwex mop system, I was opening a bottle of beer bread mix when it exploded all over our kitchen. I’m not even exaggerating a little – beer bread mix covered every nook and cranny of that room. It was all over me, all over our counter tops, and all over our floor. I immediately rushed to the sink to rinse it out of my eyes, and was met with the most overwhelming mess I have ever seen in my kitchen.

Fortunately, I remembered this handy little mop sitting in our laundry room, and after scrubbing our counters clean I attacked the floor. This mop was a godsend! In just a few minutes every last speck of beer bread mix was a forgotten memory. A normal mop would have just pushed the mix all around the floor and a broom would have sent it flying into the air. With the Norwex mop system, every piece of the mixture stuck to the microfiber, removing it quickly.

Use it dry and the static electricity picks up all types of debris from your floor. Or, use it wet (no need for harsh chemicals) to clean up spills and remove stains. Because the microfiber removes up to 99% of bacteria with just water, we even use it to sanitize the floor after our rescue pup, Lily, has an accident in the house (you can read Lily’s story here). The mop pad needs minimal water, so it is safe to use on wood flooring without the risk of swelling. You can even use it on your windows, walls, and ceilings!

Other benefits:

  • Far less messy and cumbersome than a typical mop and bucket system
  • Floors dry quickly due to minimal water use
  • One mop pad can clean an entire floor
  • Floors are safer for children and pets!

Odour Eliminator

Last year my parents were treated to a vacation in Mexico for my dad’s retirement. We volunteered to keep their dogs at our house while they were gone. Oscar, their very senior dachshund, has incontinence issues and urinated all over our hallway multiple times over the course of the week. As anyone with pets knows, urine is not an easy smell to eliminate. After he returned home, I pulled out the Norwex odour eliminator and sprayed it all over the hallway. Within a half hour, the smell was completely gone and the best part – it never came back! Urine has a tendency to creep back up, but it never did after using this spray.

Fast forward a few months later, and we were borrowing my grandparent’s car to go to Yellowstone. Years ago, a senior pet of theirs had also had multiple accidents in their car, and the smell had never completely gone away. On my grandparent’s behalf, my dad had tried everything to get that smell out, with no luck. I didn’t want to drive thousands of miles with the windows rolled down, so as a last ditch effort I pulled out the odour eliminator and doused the car in it. The next morning when we hit the road for our trip, the smell was completely gone!

The Norwex odour eliminator is a miracle in a bottle. It has yet to meet a smell it can’t beat. You can use it as a spray or even put it in the laundry for clothes that stink. Use it in your bathrooms, kitchens, garbage cans, disposal bins, lockers, carpets, laundry and changing rooms. It is a concentrate, so it needs to be diluted with water, which means this stuff lasts a LONG time! It’s biodegradable, phthalate-free, non-flammable, contains no aerosol propellants, and leaves no residue or staining behind. Seriously, this stuff is magic!

Did you know? Phthalates are EDCs—endocrinedisrupting chemicals—which are found in many air-freshening products. They can adversely affect development and reproductive systems.

Mold & Mildew Stain Remover

The windows in our house are old (single pane) and therefore create a TON of moisture. Every morning when we open our blinds, there is condensation all over the tracks, the glass, and the surrounding wood framing. Moisture and heat are breeding grounds for mold, so we have to clean often to keep said nasties away. Before discovering the mold and mildew stain remover, Hubby used harsh chemicals like bleach to kill and clean mold. With kiddos in our home, I don’t love using toxic chemicals that create dangerous fumes. Fortunately, Norwex created this stain remover, and now it is our go-to for all things mold and mildew related.

Unlike other harsh cleaners, it is free from chlorine, peroxide, ammonia, bleach, phosphates, sulfates, dye, fragrance, fillers, and SLS/SLES. On top of all that, it contains biodegradable and environmentally-friendly ingredients. It can be used on a variety of surfaces both indoors and out, including tile, sealed grout, porcelain, natural stone, laminate, glass, plastic, stainless steel, wood, and concrete. This is one of those products that everyone should have in their home!

Spirinetts (2 Pack)

A few years ago, Hubby and I purchased all new stainless steel appliances for our kitchen. Just a few months after this purchase, I made stuffed mushrooms in the new oven for a Christmas party we were hosting. I wasn’t thinking and forgot that mushrooms release liquid when they cook, and that same liquid coated the bottom of our brand new oven. We didn’t have time to clean it at that exact moment (which would have been easiest), so it solidified and became a rock hard mess.

I’m not going to lie, that mess sat in the bottom of our oven for a few years. We tried to remove it, but nothing could make the remains of those mushrooms budge. One day Hubby noticed a set of these stainless-steel spirinetts sitting under our sink, and decided to tackle the oven with them. After just a few minutes (and a little elbow grease), our oven was spotless and like new again! Hubby was amazed at how well these scrubbers removed years of built on gunk.

Norwex states that “spirinetts can be used to tackle anything from dried-, burnt- and baked-on food on pots, pans, ovens and grills, to algae on fish tanks, watermarks on glass and ceramic tiles, and rust and lime buildup on showers and faucets.” They are 100% recyclable, extremely durable, rust-free, dishwasher safe, and can be used on glass, ceramic tile, stainless steel, and wood (do not use on non-stick surfaces). Because the spirinett does not have a handle, it is easy to manipulate into corners and tight spaces. For a larger job, the Mighty Mesh Pot Scrubber is basically the same thing, but with a handle for greater control (only 1 per pack).

Dish Mat

Our dishwasher doesn’t have a dry cycle, so oftentimes our dishes come out of the dishwasher needing to be dried off. I don’t have time for that, but I also can’t put everything away while it’s still wet. The Norwex dish mat creates the perfect drying solution. I simply stack everything onto the mat and within a few hours, everything has air-dried. The dish mat is ultra-absorbent (water never gets through to my countertops), dries quickly, and it folds in half for easy storage. Plus, if you allow it to fully dry in between uses, you rarely have to wash it! The BacLock self-purifies, so mold and mildew won’t grow, despite the moisture.

Did you know? Air-drying is a great way to ensure that harmful bacteria doesn’t grow on dishes. In fact, an FDA food service industry code (4-901.11) specifies that all dishes should be air-dried before being stacked and stored.

Hubby’s Favorite Product: Bath Towel

The bath towel is Hubby’s favorite Norwex product for a few reasons. First, it is huge so it wraps around him better than some of our non-Norwex towels. Second, he gets multiple uses out of it before it gets smelly, which decreases our laundry load quite a bit. It is thinner than normal towels, so it takes up less room in the wash. It also grabs moisture, helping him dry off quickly. I’ll be honest. I don’t love the feel of microfiber when used in this fashion, so I have not adopted these towels for myself. But, Hubby loves them so he has a few that he rotates, which is good enough for me!

Baby Girl’s Favorite Product: Pet to Dry Towels

Love Bug and Baby Girl adore these pet to dry towels. We have one in each bathroom that they use (the bear and the cat). The loops on top make them easy to hang within a child’s reach and the soft texture encourages them to dry their hands. The BacLock technology also means that they self-purify, reducing my need to wash them constantly. Even with frequent use, they don’t get smelly! Both girls wash their hands more often simply so they can use these towels – that’s a win in my book!

Purchasing Norwex

Norwex is sold through independent consultants, much like Scentsy, Usborne Books, and other direct sales companies. A few years ago I signed up to be a consultant for the company so that I could get a discount on all the amazing products! I don’t do it actively through in-home parties, but I do sell to my friends and family. If you are interested in purchasing Norwex, you can contact me via email or you can find a local consultant here.

Norwex has tons of great products and just because I don’t have it listed here, doesn’t mean it doesn’t work or isn’t amazing! These are just my favorites that I use regularly. Plus, the product line is so extensive that I haven’t had a chance to try everything yet. That said, there are some products that I’m not crazy about, so if you have a question about any of the products let me know in the comments below! The company is highly innovative and they are always creating new and amazing things, so I have A TON of new products added to my wish list! I will update this post as I discover new favorites!
